At Chicopee Elementary, Nessa is one of the gang. She plays, she laughs, she shares her snacks.

Always. But first — did everyone finish their homework?
Nessa always checks on her classmates. It's just who she is.
When Lily struggled with math...
Don't worry, Lily. Let me show you — it's easier than it looks.
You're always so nice, Nessa.
After school, Mommy and little brother Myles are waiting.
How was school, sweetheart?
I helped Lily with her math. And guess what — she got an A.

That's Myles. He thinks his big sister is a superhero.
He's not wrong.

Saturday morning. The Stix family heads to Chicopee Hill...
Mommy, can I try the big hill today?
You've been practicing all season, Ness. I think you're ready.
At the lodge, Nessa straps on her skis...

Nessa flies down the slope. The wind sings. The snow sparkles. She is exactly where she's meant to be.

Halfway down the run, Nessa hears something through the wind...
Help! Somebody help!
Wait — that sounded like someone in trouble.
A small boy — no older than Myles — is off the trail, tangled in his skis, tears streaming down his face.

I can't get up! My skis are stuck! I want my mom!
SHHHHK!
Without a second thought, Nessa carves to a stop.
Hey buddy. I'm Nessa. I'm right here. You're going to be okay.
Take a deep breath with me. Ready? In... and out.
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

There we go. See? You just had a little twist. Happens to everyone — even me when I was learning.
R-really? Even you?
Especially me. The best skiers fall the most. That's how you get brave.

Nessa skis beside him, guiding him slowly down the hill.
You're doing great. Just follow my turns.

JAKE!
Oh my goodness — Jake! Are you okay? I was looking everywhere!
Mommy! Nessa helped me! She's like a superhero!
Thank you so much. You didn't have to stop — most people would have skied right past.
Of course I stopped. That's what we're supposed to do — look out for each other. God put us here together for a reason.
NESSA!!
That's my sister! She saves people! She's SUPER NESSA!
Myles crashes into her with the biggest hug. He's so proud, he's practically bouncing.
Mommy wraps an arm around Nessa. The sun is warm. The mountain is quiet.
I'm so proud of you, Ness. You didn't just help that boy — you showed him that kindness is brave.
Thank you, God. For giving me the courage to stop.

Monday morning. Back at school. Nobody knows what happened on the mountain...
Hey Nessa, want to sit with us at lunch?
Sure. Is everyone coming?
She doesn't brag. She doesn't tell anyone she's a hero.
Hey, you look sad. Want to sit with us?
At home, she teaches Myles what she's learned.
You know what God says, Myles? He says the strongest people are the ones who help others.
I want to be strong like you, Nessa!
